Quiche at Delightful Pastries
Avli Estiatorio
Avli Estiatorio (566 Chestnut St.), Winnetka and Chicagoland’s premier Greek dining destination, will offer a traditional Greek Easter brunch on Sunday, March 27. When guests arrive, they will be greeted with Greek Easter Sweet Bread, or Tsoureki. The restaurant will then dish up Avgolemano Mushroom & Swiss Chard Soup, a vegetarian version of the Greek Mageritsa soup that is customary to eat on the holiday. Guests will enjoy Paskalini Salata, a simple salad of shredded Romaine lettuce, scallions and fresh dill served with a lemon vinaigrette, as well as Oven-Roasted Lamb with an array of sides. Warmed Greek Galaktoboureko (Greek Orange Custard Pie with Syrup) will be served for dessert. The Easter menu will be offered on Sunday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost per person is $35 and $22 for children under 12 years of age (exclusive of tax and gratuity.) Delightful Pastries
Bring brunch home this Easter Sunday! Delightful Pastries (Jefferson Park, Old Town, Chicago French Market), the family-owned and operated European bakery and café, will offer an impressive menu of sweet and savory brunch dishes. Sweets include a festive Lamb Cake, pound cake with a buttercream finish ($15 for small and $20 for large); Chocolate Babka, yeast babka with chocolate, raisins soaked in rum and cinnamon ($8.49); and Banana Cream Pie, bananas topped with vanilla bean custard and topped with mounds of whipped cream and white chocolate shavings ($20). Stand-out savory items include the Lamb & Spinach Pie, with organic lamb and a cheese béchamel sauce ($56); Vegetable Quiche, with leeks, spinach, mushroom, onions and Swiss cheese ($45); and White Borsht Soup with Fresh Sausage ($6.99/qt). An array of sourdough, rye and gluten free breads will be available ($5-$10). Harvest at Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile
Located directly on the Magnificent Mile, Harvest at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile (540 N Michigan Ave.) will offer an all-you-can-eat, delectable Easter Sunday Brunch. A carving station features House-cured Ham with a Filbert’s root beer glaze and Herb-Roasted Leg of Lamb with mint yogurt. Omelets will be made-to-order, while guests may dine on endless helpings of local cheese and charcuterie, smoked brisket hash, waffle-fried chicken, smoked salmon toast, deviled eggs and fresh fruit and salad. The menu will be offered on Sunday, March 27 for $40 per adult and $18 per child under 10 years of age (exclusive of tax and gratuity).
